There are safari camps – and there are safari camps – and then there is Jozibanini. This remote and inaccessible camp, sat on the edge of the Kalahari, with just three raised tented rooms, offers one of Africa’s most exclusive, exotic, wild and – yet – surprisingly cosy and heartwarming experiences.
Accessible through the bewitchingly spiritual Triga Vlei, the drive to Jozi can take all day – an experience in itself (though for the less cavalier, Lubuti airstrip is now open 15 minutes from the camp). Meals are all al fresco – and cooked with loving simplicity – and game viewing includes time spent in their waterhole-side hide which can, in total safety and seclusion, offer some of the closest proximity to large numbers of elephant possible anywhere. For the seasoned safari goer, Jozi offers the jewel in the crown…
