Karangoma

Overview

We fell in love at first sight with this new camp, set up by Wild Expeditions. Established in partnership with the Bukakhwe San community, Karangoma offers the richest of safari experiences, with excellent guides accompanying you on walks and drives. The camp itself is very comfortable, without going over the top on luxury. Bells & whistles are not a priority for this camp – whilst welcoming rooms, a relaxing main area, and good food are! For safari-goers combining Botswana and Zimbabwe, this camp pairs very well with Camp Hwange – now also a Wild Expeditions property.

Current access to the camp - which is located on a private concession - is by helicopter via the Vumbera airstrip: this is scenic, but expensive. However, Wild Expeditions are hoping to open an airstrip of their own during 2025: this will make access easier, quicker and more affordable.
