Takwela Camp

Overview

This isolated, outlying camp in the seldom visited North Luangwa Park is only open from mid June to end October each year. With just four welcoming rooms, Takewela is as intimate as it is remote.

Stunningly located on the confluence of the Luangwa and Mwaleshi rivers, this area is home to a wide variety of mammals and birds (over 400 species). The resident hippos add to the sonic effects of the place, and via land or water one can expect to explore a fascinating, picturesque, and seldom seen part of Africa.
