Tsowa Safari Island

Overview

This beautiful, serene, islanded camp is set peacefully on the southern side of the Zambezi, some way up-stream from the Victoria Falls. The lovingly appointed rooms have stunning balcony views, and the welcoming main area is accompanied by a cheerful riverside firepit.

Trips to the Victoria Falls can be arranged, and game viewing by foot, vehicle and boat is available. But, over and above the solace of this camp, the real highlight is the birding which, and with riverine and forest environments within a stone’s throw of the camp, is utterly outstanding. There are over 450 bird species in the area, including elusive Pel’s Fishing Owls which are often heard and seen at or around this camp.

Tsowa makes a great choice for people visiting in the green season (January to May) when the Falls are their most magnificent and the birdlife at its most abundant. For serious bird enthusiasts, we are pleased to offer a private guiding experience at this camp with one of the areas most experienced and informed guides.
