Parts of Luangwa can get quite busy in peak season. If that’s a worry for you – Luwi
might be the answer. Set amongst mahogany trees, Luwi is about as remote as one
can get in South Luangwa. With a very open ‘bush’ feel, and rooms and main area
relying on woods, grasses and canvas for construction, this is an enticing camp.
The
Luwi River – on which it is set – is seasonal, but there are areas of permanent water
in a few lagoons which act as magnets for animals, especially in the dry season.
Game viewing is by vehicle and – especially – walks, as well as from the comfort of
the camp itself. A charming, out-of-the-way, rustic yet comfortable camp.
