Overview
Arriving in Bulawayo, you would be transferred by air to the Zimbabwean lowveld and Chilo Gorge Safari Lodge. Beautifully set on the banks of the Save River and looking into the Gonarezhou park: one of Africa’s recent conservation stories at its most successful. Your stay might involve drives and walks, including a visit to the stunning Chilojo Cliffs. As well abundant wildlife, the area is rich in history of the Shangaan people as well as well Arab traders who navigated the Save as far as Chilo in the trade with Great Zimbabwe.
From here you would be transferred to the bewitching Matobo hills of Matebeleland and the idiosyncratic style of Amalinda Lodge, built out of the rocks and with its 9 unique rooms. Best known for its scenery, sunsets and time to relax and reflect, Matobo does also provide opportunity for game sighting, including black rhino.
After unwinding at Amalinda transfer would be made to Camp Hwange in the heart of Zimbabwe’s greatest game reserve. This delightful camp is famed for the high standards of its guides, and is home to an area with some of the country’s best game viewing.
